Bike Into Work Extreme Edition

These days, I’ve been biking into work more often. 36 minutes for a 12 km trip is my best so far. Top speed, 31 kmh. So, I was kinda wondering…

Somewhere, there must be someone, where they bike into work in the morning, get to race all the way downhill, and then take a bus or tram back up home.

Looks like there’s a place where you can do that…

And Back Up Again

    Wow. That guy’s good.

What’s the elevation of Lisbon? Jyeesh. Big hill!

  2. Nils:

Seems its highest point is 77 meters (252 feet). How steep it is? No idea – steep!

Nils, get yourself a downhiller bike and some race gear and you could be making your own extreme videos. Seems like your time is pretty quick. You’re half way there! Strap a cam to your helmet…it’d be great fun.

Ha ha, of course I didn’t mention that today my time was 46 minutes (headwinds) and that I was exhausted to death after yesterday’s high schore :)

I am gonna try and record stuff once – then maybe do a high-speed edit or something.

My bike ride to work is downhill all the way and takes about 2 minutes. This ride hardly involves any pedaling, I just gently roll to work, my top speed is about 30km an hour. After work my wife gives me a lift back home. A video of this experience might help cure insomnia.

Wheels in motion do not a bike ride make, one would say. But the wife-driving-you-home bit is an aspect that I should consider. Very useful.
